What do a Rhino and Oxpecker Bird, Bumble bee and flower, and dental hygienist and patient all have in common?
The all NEED each other! In the case of the Oxpecker bird and Rhinos, the relationship is comically similar. The little bird gets into those places that the Rhino simply CANNOT care for itself. The same is true of our hygienists.
If you are due for your next cleaning appointment you might have noticed a couple of changes
- Gums bleed when you brush or floss
- Your bottom front teeth have started to become joined together by tartar
- Your breathe isn’t fresh, no matter how much you brush!
These things start happening because as patients we have some limitations. The tartar on your teeth CANNOT be removed with a toothbrush, no matter how hard you try. When your gums become puffy, it is a sign of gum disease and needs the care of a dental professional. Persistent bad breathe can also be a sign of gum disease.
Here is where your hygienist comes in! A bumble bee can do things a flower can’t because it has tools and abilities that the flower doesn’t have (like wings for flying!). The hygienist has special tools that let them get the big chunks of tartar off your teeth, treat gum disease and help make your breath fresh again!
Our hygienists are the best around at caring for your oral hygiene and giving you the education and tools you need to keep your mouth as healthy as possible!
